RetroFoam™ Installation
The RetroFoam™ installation process is completely hassle free. After the initial client contact we arrange for a free, no obligation site survey to be carried out by one of our trained surveyors.
Our surveyor will establish the wall construction, work out areas and prepare a quotation. At this stage our surveyor will be happy to explain the installation process and answer any questions you may have.
If the quote is acceptable we will arrange a suitable day to carry out the installation.
On the day of the installation our specialist technicians will arrive and prior to commencing one of the team will inspect your home with you to take a register of any existing damage to the property. This register along with photographic records will be retained by us.
A skilled technician will establish the build type of your home and will use a stud detector to locate the structural timbers. Various quality assurance tests are carried out and records are kept of the events of the installation. Depending on the layout of the property it is sometimes necessary to isolate the power supply. This can be assessed by the technician.
The installation process can be carried out from outside or inside the building, a series of 18mm diameter holes are drilled at various heights around the building’s perimeter. The foam is then injected through these holes directly into the space in the internal stud. This ensures minimal disruption to the homeowner.
We work to very exacting standards paying particular attention to details such as window sills and walls ensuring they are cleaned off immediately after drilling so that no staining occurs from the brick dust.
Once the installation is complete all injection holes are filled and patched to best match the existing building finish and the site is cleaned up. All residue of foam on the ground can be washed away with water as the product is fully bio-degradable. A final inspection is carried out with the homeowner to ensure that all the work has been carried out to a high standard.
The whole process generally takes a day but on larger properties it can take a little longer. The cure time for the foam is normally around 72 hours although this may vary slightly at different times of the year.
Shortly after the installation has been completed you will receive your guarantee and also a courtesy call from our call centre. We value your feedback and constantly strive to improve the service we provide and can only do this with your help.
